The rest of Newfoundland doesn't look like a barren wasteland and I don't think it's fair to say that it's a place "where nothing else grows". I understand where they were going with the "triumph over hardship" message but to all the Newfoundlanders who grew up outside of the Avalon Peninsula, this is just another example of "St. John's = Newfoundland" I think part of the problem here is that once again, the “Avaloners” are trying to speak for the entire province.
